I spent my late teens, my 20s & a good portion of my 30s gaming. I gave up mainly so I would actually leave my apartment when I moved to Germany. Still gaming is close to my heart even though I no longer play. Therefore, GamerGate is something that is also important for me mainly because it has wide reaching effects beyond the gaming community to how women are generally treated online. Felicia Day, whose reputation as an actress, writer and online personality, made her mark through gaming and what she has to say about GamerGate is, in my opinion, highly representative of other female gamers – and also deeply heartbreaking.
