On Hold in Deutschland

Being on hold is irritating no matter what country you are currently in.

In Australia, I was used to hearing an annoying recorded message which said something along the lines of ” Thank you for holding.  Your call is important to us.  A customer service representative will be with you in a moment.”

Here in Germany, the recorded message is shorter and more to the point.  “Just wait a moment.”

On the upside, I now have an appointment to get my visa issued – Monday morning at 9:30am. Just four days before my current visa runs out.  Now that’s what I call cutting it fine.  There better not be any problems.

      • Try calling Alice DSL, then.

“Your call is very important to us. Please have a moment’s patience. There are a few customers in the queue. Please don’t hang up. Vestibulum id ligula porta felis euismod semper. Donec sed odio dui. Donec ullamcorper nulla non metus auctor fringilla.”

        … 40 minutes later…

    • It really is too close than what I’m comfortable with but that was the first appointment I could get. If things don’t work out I’m not sure what I’m going to do.
