Today marks my second anniversary in Germany. I can’t believe it has been two years already. On one hand, I still feel like I’m finding my feet here and on the other I feel at home. Despite the challenges of learning German and getting my head around the differences in culture, I’m still loving my life here.
One of the reasons I’m so content here is the wonderful group of friends I’ve made here, both expats and German natives, from all over the place. Every one of them is precious. Of course, I still miss my wonderful friends from home and wish I could transport them all here. [Note to friends from home: I have a comfy couch bed that needs filling with more visitors!]
What will the next 12 months bring? I have no idea, however, moving to Germany remains the best not-very-well-thought-out decision I’ve ever made.

Watch it! Two years turns into fifteen in the blink of an eye! Glad you’re settling in. Hope we can hang out together a little more too!
Yes, we definitely have to get together soon and have a proper chat rather than the flu-ridden one we had a WEBMU.
Congratulations! I’m quickly approaching three in the UK. I have to say, I am far more homesick than you sound.
Thanks :) Hopefully you can get over your homesickness and start to really enjoy your life in the UK.
